About Your Private Driver Guide in Turkey
I have been working as a professional tour guide since 2007.
My name is Mesut Caliskan. I was born in 1982 in the south-eastern part of Turkey, Gaziantep. I am married with one daughter and live in Kusadasi/Turkey.
What Services do I Offer?
I can organise private Turkey tour services as a private driver-guide, as well as arrange your domestic flight tickets and hotel reservations in Turkey.
My Work Experiences
Before the college, I worked as an intern in accounting offices in my hometown.
Between 2001 and 2007, I worked as operations, reservation, and accounting staff for travel agencies that welcomed British and Irish tourists.
Since 2007, I have been working as a professional tour guide in Turkish, English, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese.
After buying my own minivan in 2020, I now serve as a private driver guide in Turkey.
My Education
I graduated from Trade Vocational High School in my hometown, Gaziantep, in 1999.
As a college student, I studied tourism and hotel management and graduated in 2004.
I got my bachelor’s degree from the Business Management Faculty of Anatolia University in 2008.
In 2006, after enrolling in Tour Guiding Course conducted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, I received history, archaeology, art history, mythology education and got my guiding licence in 2007.
Furthermore, after learning English in my regular school life, I started learning Spanish on my own in 2008 and became a multilingual tour guide.
In 2012, I went to China and lived there for a year and a half, learning Mandarin Chinese. Since then, I can speak, write, and communicate fluently in these languages, as well as my own mother tongue, Turkish.
In 2020, I bought my own minibus and started taking a commercial driving licence course. After my exams and the necessary health requirement checks, I received my commercial driving licence, known as the SRC licence in Turkey.
My Hobbies
My biggest hobby is travelling. As a backpacker, I have been to 25 countries so far, including Mexico, The USA, Colombia, China, Thailand, Russia, Iran, Armenia, Costa Rica, Panama, Serbia, and many more.
I love scuba diving. I have the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver’s license and have dived in Turkey, Thailand, and the Caribbean Sea of Honduras.
Paragliding is an awesome activity for me. I did paragliding in Fethiye and Pamukkale, Turkey. I have done solo-flights at an amateur level.
As a four-language-speaking person, I sure love learning the languages and cultures of other countries. I can speak some basic Russian too, but I don’t find it good enough so far. I would like to improve my Russian language skills and learn Arabic as well.
Furthermore, I like spending time fixing my scooter and car myself as much as I can.
And I love playing backgammon.
